a slice of Parisian in Sheung Wan with the new Agnes B cafe

so cheap? haha

woof! big post! Happy CNY everyone!

Gewurzhaus

Spice house in German, Gewurzhaus is like a modern zouk of salts and spices,
packed with freshly baked goodies, retro kitchen trinkets and utensils in vibrant colours

For the epicurious and those who have come to appreciate the finer details in life,
Gewurzhaus is the mecca to visit!

I loved the patterned tiles!

I went away with a lot of things I wanted to google about,
such as what would I do with a big slab of this :

A huge Himalayan salt block!

Apparently you’d heat up the slab and cook thin slices of meat, fish or vegetables on top
or it could be chilled and used as a serving plate for anything ranging from
cheese to sushi!
What a creative idea for restaurants!
My mouth is watering from the prospect of thin slices of wagyu beef simmering on top….

A little trivia! Himalayan salt is considered the cleanest, purest form of salt in the world,
Reaped from the Himalayan mountain range the salt is sheltered from pollution & impurities

I had no idea there were so many different types of salts!
Being quite the little oenophile I was very drawn to the vintage merlot salt … mmm .

the sacred wall of spices
how can one resist ….

 beautiful VM

I love these restaurant stamps! Some were hilarious~

every household needs a vintage scale and some apothecary inspired bottles!

Five Sugars

Sweet Tooth-ers alert!

5 Sugars makes me feel like I’ve stepped into a
little surreal wonderland of candies and sweets
it’s one of those places that’s bound to bring a smile to one’s face and
that children will remember going to years later!

I remember watching it set up a few months ago,
oh that beautiful driftwood bench…
I’d love one in my kitchen!

quaint and effortlessly enchanting, beautiful merchandising!
I love their palette of pistachio mint greens, chalky pink & blue

I’m a big fan of ACF cups- I had no idea they did so many colours!
on their website there doesn’t seem to be so many cute colours on offer
perhaps it was custom made : – ) I’d LOOOVEEE to collect all the colours!

Travelling Wares!

Had a few hours to spare in the morning before work
so headed off to the Jan Powers market with darling I-Wen & my lover
especially to check out ….

The talented photographer Kara Rosenlund & partner Timothy
bought a caravan off gumtree, which they restored
and after (I presume) a lot of blood sweat and tears
Travelling Wares was born!

(the above flyer sourced via her website)

The cutest little trailer with a nautical feel on the inside
the lovely Kara invited us to go in and have a little sit on the bouncy cushions in her van!

oohhh… I am such a sucker for vintage nicnacs and bric a bracs

OH ~ how I wish I had the time to blog about my trip to Sydney earlier this week to see the Outpost project

Really need a properly holiday soon!!! Haven’t drawn much or had any crafternoons : – )
